November 9th is National Go to an Art Museum Day, and it's a perfect time to discover the fascinating works around the Twin Cities. Another exceptional and unique gallery in the Twin Cities, the American Museum of Asmat Art offers a fascinating glimpse into the culture and art of the Asmat people. Located on the campus of the University of St. Thomas, this museum dedicated to Papua region of Indonesia features over 2,000 pieces. As one of the largest museums of its kind in the country, the American Museum of American Art offers showcases works that are not for sale, unlike most Asmat art created today.
